    — Where Logic Meets Imagination

  • Origin

My love for detective stories began in middle school and has shaped how I think. What fascinates me is not just solving the mystery, but understanding the logic behind human behavior—how small details can reveal deeper motives and hidden truths. This passion for analytical thinking led me to revive our school's dormant reasoning club in junior year.

Facing a two-year hiatus and no members, I started from scratch: designing posters, redefining our vision, and personally recruiting members. This experience taught me my first lesson in entrepreneurial leadership—how to build a community that others genuinely want to be part of.

    Activities

As lead lecturer, I curated weekly sessions where we moved beyond passive viewing to actively deconstruct mysteries like Sherlock Holmes. I guided members in analyzing how narrative misdirection and deductive logic interact to create compelling puzzles.

Our most significant evolution came when we transitioned from consumers to creators. I introduced "Mystery Poems" - a minimalist format challenging members to conceal crimes within just four lines. One poem used the "clink of a silver coin" in church to imply a thieving bell-ringer, teaching precision in language and logical construction.

For the campus club festival, we designed an interactive riddle game where participants reconstructed hidden stories through strategic yes/no questioning, bringing our analytical approach to a wider audience.

    Heritage

Beyond puzzles, the club's greatest value was creating a sanctuary for intellectual courage. In an academic environment obsessed with right answers, we celebrated the process of asking questions. We built a culture where it was safe to be wrong, to challenge assumptions, and to enjoy the messy, collaborative joy of thinking itself. That comfort with complexity is the lasting gift we gave to our members.
